Tabasco Soap?
Tabasco sauce and soap works great as a liquid repellent sprayed outside. Simply add 2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce into a quart spray bottle filled with water and a tablespoon of a natural soap (such as Dr. Bronners Peppermint soap). Spray along where the walls of your house meet the ground. Spray also in areas outside where they hang out. This will keep them away. This mixture can also be sprayed directly on them to kill them.

Using Oils (extracts)
Coconut Oil will coat the cockroaches and will suffocate them. Add a dash soap to this and increase its effectiveness. Experiment for proper strength.
Citronella is an incredible tool in cockroach control. Learn to use this oil against cockroaches. Using a small amount in water will repel them.
Garlic oil can be used against cockroaches with excellent results, (If you don't mind the garlic scent). Add a few drops to soap and water. Spray directly on cockroaches.
Melaleuca oil is a very strong oil to use against cockroaches. Use a few drops with a dash of soap and water. Test for strength.
Peppermint oil is another strong oil. This will kill cockroaches on contact! Test for strength and scent tolerance.
