Natural Roach Control
                          Step 4

    What do you feed them?

     The Cockroach Brew

  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup cheap wine or beer or vinegar,
  • 1 tablespoon of Brewers Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of Butter
  • 2 tablespoon of Boric acid
Mix everything together into 8 oz. cup. Place into the Roach Inn. Screw down the lid. Keep children and pets out! Cockroaches will enter Roach Inn and go into the cup where the mixture is. Most die inside, others will die later. Change mixture and clean cup regularly. Keep count. Beer or wine, vinegar in a bowl, when used alone with brewers yeast really works well in attracting and trapping them. Try soda also. Keeping count will tell you how well the trap is working and how much longer to continue using. This trap will attract the young roaches also.

Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulfate) any one ?

  • Fill bowl one-half full with Epsom Salts. Place bowl in Roach Inns and place in area cockroaches are seen. Allow them access to the Epsom Salts by placing strips of wood against the bowl to allow the cockroaches to climb up. They will eat it. This will kill them within weeks. The magnesium will upset biologic systems in cockroaches and prevent them from feeding and they die.

     Homemade Containers

  • You can use wide mouth bottles, bowls, jars, whatever is available. I do not recommend this if you have children. Make sure it's childproof.

  •     If you have children then I suggest you use do not use the boric acid in anything other than a safe place like in the Roach Inns. When these are screwed down, children or pets will not be able to enter. Boric acid should not be ingested. Avoid cuts. Wash hands after use. Boric acid powder is an excellent, safe (do not ingest! Keep away from cuts, wear gloves) control of roaches inside the home if used correctly. 20 Mule Team Borax soap is such a product. Sprinkle into hiding places and along trails. Cockroaches have not been able to develop immunity to this substance, which they are unable to detect. They walk into it and ingest through cleaning themselves. Boric acid takes several weeks to be effective. Keep children and pets away! Boric Acid is best used mixed into a mixture that is eaten by the cock- roaches (see Cockroach Inns). Avoid breathing the dust. I suggest that you try the mixture's) without the boric acid first and see how well it works then use the boric acid if needed. DRAX works well on roaches as well as ants. Try DRAX Peanut Butter for protein. Poisons have no effect on their egg cases and must be present when they hatch to be effective. Boric acid can be added to water to mop the floor with, added to water and sprayed around walls, etc., when dried will leave a thin film for the cockroaches to run into (not appropriate where cats hang out).

  • Boric acid is available from BioControl and or from Peacefully Farm
