If your compost is getting too hot then you are adding too much nitrogen rich materials
such as chicken or animal manure's, grass clippings, etc. I would suggest that you re-turn
the pile while adding carbon materials and sprinkling a little water to cool it off. The
addition of soil would be good here also.
