Compost Has plants growing out of it!

This is due to the fact that your compost did not heat up enough to destroy the plants (seeds, weeds) in your pile. If any plants are growing simply remove them to be composted. If its a vegetable such as a tomato then transplant it into your garden. You should turn over your compost more often while adding nitrogen rich materials such as grass clippings, animal manure etc.

Adding rock dust will also increase the energy (heat) of the pile.
