Lawn gets scalped when mower cuts too low.

This causes a great deal of stress which opens it up to diseases and pests to attack

Lawn received inadquate water or uneven watering which develops short roots thus weak and yellow patches appear after mowing

improper fertilization

LOW BRIX ALERT

Steps to correct Problem:

  1. Give your mower a tune up! check blades for sharpness. Adjust mower to proper height. Get grass longer then shorter. Water the effected area well and on a re bases. This will reduce damage.

  2. Top dress effected areas with compost and rock dust.

  3. Spray soil and lawn with Nitron A-35 and Superseaweed. Agri Gro is excellent also.

  4. A good application of compost several times per year will help to increase soil bacteria and earthworm traffic. Compost and rock dust will also increase the minerals available to the soil and the lawn. This will increase roots and increase health of lawn and soil.

  5. Aerate lawn/soil at least once per year. Aerate before you top dress to increase effectiveness. Do not aerate dry or wet soil. Water a few days before you aerate. If soil is too wet allow to dry a little.
