     Lawn Problems.....Dog Urine Damage

Description of Problem:

  • Lawn has brown or light brown circular bare spots.

  • Similar to chemical burns.

  • This causes a great deal of stress which opens it up to diseases and pests to attack.

   Steps to correct Problem:

  1. Water the effected area well. This will reduce damage. Water as soon as dog pees on lawn if possible.

  2. Top dress effected areas with compost and rock dust.

  3. Spray soil and lawn with Nitron A-35 and Superseaweed. and or Agri Gro Turf formula.

  4. Use soap as a wetting agent. Use 1 tablespoon per gallon water.

  5. A good application of compost several times per year will help to increase soil bacteria and earthworm traffic.

  6. Compost and rock dust will also increase the minerals available to the soil and the lawn. This will increase roots and increase health of lawn and soil.

  7. Aerate lawn/soil at least once per year. Aerate before you top dress to increase effectiveness. Do not aerate dry or too wet soil.

  8. Water a few days before you aerate. If soil is too wet allow to dry a little.

  9. Read up on Lawn Basic care.
