Lawn Pests Ants

 

  • Description of Damage:

  • ahilawn.jpg (3965 bytes) Small mounds of soil found on lawn with ant trails leading in and out.

  • Steps to remove ant hills from your lawn

  1. Step 1....see chapter on Ant control. GOTO Dances with Ants Dept ....

  2. Step 2....to one gallon hot water add 1/2 cup Dr Bronners soap (or any natural soap) and pour into ant hills.

  3. Step 3.....the following day mix equal amounts of garden DE dust and boric acid. Dust hills, turn over with shovel to uncover ant colonies, dust colonies.

  4. Step 4....if they are still a problem pour the following mixture into ant hills:
    In 1 gallon water place 1 cup of chewing tobacco tied into a ball.
    Allow to sit for overnight.
    Pour water into ant hills.

  5. Step 5....if you still are having an ant problem read about setting up ant cafes around outside of lawn.

  6. If you still are having an ant problem on your lawn and you have followed the above steps as well as followed the ant control steps and you have talked with me, then I would suggest that you take an on-line ant class to solve this problem.
