The following recipe makes approximately 28 pounds:
2 lbs. Fish meal *
2 lbs. Organic Alfalfa meal *
4 lbs. Organic Cottonseed meal*
1 lb. Wood ashes 2 lbs. Rock dust
*
2 lbs. Seaweed meal or Kelp meal *
2 lbs. Coffee grounds
10 lbs. Compost *
5 lbs. Composted animal manure
Blend all ingredients well
together. Make only enough for immediate use. Keep dry. Spread a thin layer under each
tree. Start from one foot out from trunk to twenty feet past the drip line. Water well
into soil. Use approximate one pound per year of growth. A 10-year- old citrus tree should
get 10 pounds once per year: once in the spring and once in the fall. Apply lots of
compost or horse manure in early spring2. Always add a soil acidifier such as pine needles
or leaves to the compost or to the horse manure in order to lower the ph level. Most fruit
trees prefer 6.5 -6.8 PH. Never use freshly cut grass clippings as a mulch. Spray leaves
with a liquid seaweed solution (like SuperSeaweed or Nitron A-35 or Agri-Gro or Roots
Plus) or with a seaweed mixture of your own making, once per month. Adding small amounts
of soap will control pests. See soap page. From Using Soap to Using
Ultra Fine Oil
