Milk      Molasses

  • The high calcium/iron levels combined with molasses natural bacteria make for an excellent natural spray to control fungal diseases on many plants while raising the Brix levels. I like Granny Smith cause it is natural and especially high in iron.

  • This is best to use when plants are healthly but will work when plants are under attack and you need to raise the Briz as fast as possible. This will keep their Brix levels high thus preventing the disease or pest to get hold, provided the plant is healthy enough, if the plant is weak, the Brix will raise but fall again.

  •      Here are some formula's for using molasses as a disease control and preventative spray

  1. To control basic types of Fungual diseases when they first appear.
In 1 gallon clean water free of chemicals.
    add 3 tablespoons molasses
add 1/2 cup liquid seaweed like Superseaweed  or any other natural liquid seaweed or add 5 tablespoons of my SuperSeaweed concentrate. 3 tablespoons Dr Bronners soap

  2. Molasses can be used straight to prevent most diseases from spreading by increasing the Brix of the plant. Just add 1 tablespoon molasses to every 5 cups clean water into sprayer and spray plants, leaves with it. Do it as often as needed. I would do this once a month esp if plants respond well.

there are 15 cups to a gallon so only use 3 tablespoons molasses per gallon

  3. Molasses will increase all microbiol activity so go slowly since if you have a disease it may make it worse if you apply at wrong time.I would treat for the disease first and then apply the brix raising.

  4. Best mixture of molasses to water is 1 tablespoon molasses for every 5 cups of clean water .

  5. Coffee, Cream and Molasses

A mixture of a gallon coffee (make a second batch of coffee for the plants from your morning batch). In the gallon coffee liquid add 1 cup milk and 3 tablespoon molasses. Stir and allow to sit for an hour in the sun. This is your concentrate. I would pour the gallon into a pump sprayer and and spray the leaves, underside too. Spray in late afternoon or at night when the bugs are out. Spray once a week for a month then as needed.
