Step 5 The Treatments
Spraying of
attics and other crawl spaces with either a liquid DE/Boric acid mixture
is highly recommended at least once per year in the early spring.
Boric acid can be painted on to the wood as a form of
protection against termites eating into it. It comes under the name of
Timbor.
Wear a
face mask and avoid breathing. or you can spray the wood with
XT- 2000 which is made from a
naturally occurring essential oil containing the active ingredient
d-limonene. Orange TKO is an excellent citrus that you can use for this
by mixing 1 gallon OTKO with 1
gallon Mineral oil and spraying the wood to be treated.

Removal of their colony and tubes is easily done upon detection. Remove
infected wood and replace with newly treated wood (you treat yourself with
either a Boric
acid solution or by using Citrus oil). Look for signs of their tubes and remove these. You can also dust the
areas with DE

A good Citrus Product on the market is
Orange TKO
A very clean citrus product which you can use to treat the wood with.
Orange Formula
In 1 gallon Citrus Oil mix 1 gallon Mineral oil
Spray or paint directly onto wood (unpainted). Allow to soak over
night, wipe clean then apply again. Should be treated several times for
best effects.
Commercially Treating the house:
There are several natural methods of Dry wood termite control available on the market to date: Heat (Thermagation)
140 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit is required to kill the termites. Heating kills 96% of the termites after three days and 98% after four weeks. temp must be at least 120 degrees for 30 minutes to be effective. Electricity
You can electrocute them with a gun called The Electro Gun, a high voltage, high frequency gun, developed in 1979.
It has 90,000 volts which is enough to penetrate wood and will kill termites and carpenter ants and other boring insects.
The effectiveness of this gun depends on several factors 1..overall infestation (works best when infestation is new) 2.
.availability (only will penetrate a few feet). Kills 93% after three days and 99% after four weeks.
Microwave
Shoot microwaves through them! Using a small microwave like device to shoot microwaves through the walls and
through the termites as well to kill the termites is another safe alternative method of controlling termites.. This method is limited
in its use and works best for small spot treatments such as doors, windows, small easily to reach areas. 90% are
killed after 3 days, 92% after four weeks.
Liquid Nitrogen
Freeze their buns off! offers liquid nitrogen alternative to termite control. Nitrogen in tanks is used to reduce temps of
walls down to 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. Nitrogen causes any water in the termites etc., to burst destroying it.
100% effective.
