IMPORTANT! Read Nutritional and
Water requirements. For Borer control, it is very important that you follow
nutritional requirements which must first be met in order to control and remove tree
borers.
Use TGM+ This will provide protection from tree borers. Will last from 1 to
6 months. Will not hurt tree or surrounding soil.
A Good Spraying Formula
You can spray the trunks of the trees and especially any entrance marks that they borers leave with a straight mixture of OTKO. a orange concentrate. It will not kill the tree but it will kill the borer.
Other treatments suggested: Organic Tobacco can be shoved into the
tunnels done by the borers. You can use chewing tobacco here. Or even pipe tobacco.
Just locate the entrances where the tree borers entered into the tree.
Usually a small pile of tree bark is seen nearby or next to it. Locate the
hole and push the tobacco into it.
Regular Weekly Sprayings
Foliar feed the tree once per week for the first week using the
following formula:
1 oz SuperSeaweed
or any natural seaweed concentrate
1 oz Vinegar
any type of store bought will do
1 cup Milk
any percent fat however best is from raw milk
1 cup rock dust tea
add 1 cup of your favorite rock dust or use Mine into a panty hose and place into a gallon of clean water and allow
to sit for 24 hours. Best container is one which allows sun to shine
through. Glass water bottles are best but plastic water bottles are
ok as well as white plastic paint buckets. Place container in sun
for best results. I like using the 5 gallon white plastic buckets
when on the road but to make the main batch of tea to spray, I prefer
using the glass 5 gallon water containers I get from my water
company!
Monthly sprayings and treatment
Once you have decided that the tree is free of above pests
then you should spray once per month for the next year then spray every 4
months or as needed. Once a tree is attacked by a borer, it has a high
percentage that it will be attacked again.
