About the Tree Vents Tree vents are perfect for this type of control since both the garlic and the tobacco will destroy these caterpillars, especially if it eats the leaves. Eating the leaves will cause the caterpillar to ingest the tobacco and garlic also.

Spraying Rules

a good spray formula for this problem:

1. 1/2 cup Garden Grade DE (see DE page)

2. 10 drops Shaklee's Basic H soap or Dr Bronners Peppermint Soap (any natural soap will do) add together, slowly add enough water to dissolve. strain into gallon sprayer. Spray on Tent formed. 

3. Other treatments suggested: You can use a hose to hose down with water to help remove.
