Tree Pests.....Gall Formers

  1. Remove any galls that you find with a sharp knife making sure not to damage trunk of tree. If that will damage the tree, paint the gall with straight OTKO.

  2. IMPORTANT! Please read Nutritional and Water requirements page TIWN3 before reading this section! TIWN3...Water and Nutritional Requirements for control of Gall Formers

  3. see Tree Vents About the Tree Vents Play important role in control gall formers such as phylids on Eugenia. Refill every 2 months as needed.

  4. see TGM+ TGM+ Formula Provides long term protection against gall formers such as Phylids, etc.

  5. Spraying Formula

    1. In 1 gallon of Compost Tea add the following:

    2. 1/4 cup Garden or Food Grade DE add slowly while stirring to dissolve

    3. 1/4 cup finely ground Rock Dust or use my Invisible Gardeners Special Rock Dust Blend add slowwly to dissolve

    4. 1 tablespoon Dr. Bronners Peppermint Soap

    5. 1 tablespoon Tabasco Sauce

    6. 5 drops Garlic Oil

    7. 5 drops Fine Horticultural Oil

    8. 5 drops SuperSeaweed

    1. Add 1/2 cup garden grade DE  and 1/2 cup Rock Dust to a panty hose. Place into compost tea mixture then add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well allowing DE to completely dissolve. You can attach to siphon unit or pour into sprayer. Spray areas effected. 

  6. Other treatments suggested: Additionally the tree can be sprayed with either Fish emulsion (without Urea) or Nitron A-35 and Agri Gro mixed equally, once per month.
